How much money and/or time do you need to invest to make a profitable Amazon business? – Part 1

I’ve been with Amazon for 8 years and I’m still not where I want to be. There are several reasons for this. The main one is that we’ve probably been doing Amazon seriously for less than 4 years. Before then, it was more of a hobby or experiment. Another important reason is that I’m not looking for a one-man business. I want to have a broad structure that can absorb a relevant business. What does “relevant” mean? I couldn’t tell you, but starting with 1 million euros of profit could be something like that.

Starting from scratch with few resources but time

The most common option is this one. You have time but you don’t have money or let’s say you have very little. What you should be clear about is that you will always need some money. To be on the low side, I would say that you will need around 3,000 euros. Others will say that you don’t have much, then others will tell you that they have 2,000 euros to spare. There are no absolute truths here.

What you have to consider with a small russia whatsapp number data budget is this. Your growth will be slow because it will be organic with little or no investment in ads. Is this still possible? Yes, it is but probably not for much longer. Virtually all the products we launch have organic sales without the need to invest in advertising.

By starting with so little we can do the math quickly

  • You place an order in China google classifies what the user that, with customs fees and everything, will cost you around 3,000 euros.
  • Let’s assume that you won’t have any additional costs of any kind, which is not always true, so we’ll simplify things for now.
  • The product arrives after three months. From then on, you start selling.
  • You will have sold that stock in three months if all goes well with a 100% ROI so you will have been able to double your money.

Conclusion of what we have seen after 12 months

You will see that having little resource data capital is a problem. In theory, you should maintain a good amount of liquidity to replenish stock in time. If you invest everything you have and things go well, you will run out of stock, which is not optimal for your positioning on Amazon.

To put it simply, you have been lucky enough to find a profitable niche with little competition that allows you to repeatedly regain your old positions after having a product again. This is not obvious and will not always be the case depending on the niche you are entering. So I have assumed that you have chosen the right product from the start, which will certainly not always be the case.
